According to analysts in the Belgian press, the number of cyber attacks increased by an average of 66% in 2021 compared to the previous year. Every week about 600 companies or organisations are affected.
A lot of investments are made by industry and the authorities to install technical protections (special software, fire walls, antivirus programs, etc.). However, did you know that the weakest link in the security chain is usually the user? After all, it only takes 1 user in a company or organisation to click on the wrong hyperlink or open an infected attachment in an email, to circumvent the installed protections and open the door for hackers.
During my 30 years in a large US based multinational company I have experienced how a relatively small but consistent investment in user training can make a difference in their attitude towards cybersecurity. This in turn has a significant impact on the vulnerability of the organisation. At my previous employer, every computer user was required to undergo annual training on this subject in order to maintain his/her access to the company networks.
Based on these experiences, I have put together a training course for small to medium-sized organisations and companies that would like support in this matter.
The training mainly focuses on the ways in which the users can arm themselves against cyber attacks. It is NOT a course on the techniques used by the hackers or on technical security systems.

With the help of a number of quiz questions at the end of the training, the extent to which the information was effectively transferred to the course participants is checked.
